April 4

Temp: Summit 25, Base 29
Skiing: By mid afternoon yesterday some of the trails softened, but the skiing was largely boiler plate-ish. No doubt today will be glazed and icy since it froze again last night. There is some snow on the way, which could provide a little "dust on crust." The forecast isn't calling for significant accumulation but the Eye on the Sky weathermen did mention it would be an "elevation determined" storm. That bodes well for Stowe.

April 3

Temp: summit 22, base 29
Skiing: The brilliant sunshine should warm things up considerably today. It could be THE day for epic spring skiing. Don't think twice, just go up to the mountain!

April 1

Temp: summit 43, base 50
Skiing: With all the fresh snow we received last night and temperatures warming rapidly today the skiing is phenomenal. People are up there skiing powder in their shorts! The recent two-foot snow fall brings the season total to over 32 feet!
Just kidding. Happy April Fool's Day. It's warm windy and threatening rain, but the mountain did get about three inches yesterday. The warm temps won't hurt the snow pack too much since there is so much of it up there. The gondola is on wind hold.

March 31

Temp: summit 22, base 27
Skiing: Not the same as yesterday! Clouds have moved in and covered the skies above Mansfield. Winds are picking up and it is beginning to snow. Some grooming took place overnight and the surface is hard. Forecasts call for the snow to switch over to rain later today, but let's hope it remains snow! The light is flat.

March 30

Temp: summit 20, base 28
Skiing: Sun, sun and more sun on the hill today. Skiing is fantastic. Yesterday's harsh wind is gone and the snow is softening, but not to the point of becoming slushy. It's icy in sections but nothing you can't grip.
Nosedive, Hayride and Lower National are exceptionally groomed, Liftline, too. This could be a top three day of the year so far!
