March 7
Temp: base 25 summit 22
Spring skiing has arrived, though not if you go up there right away. Below freezing temps overnight hardened the surface so expect hard and fast conditions if you go up before 10 a.m. Clear skies will allow the sun to soften things up after that. The snow on top of the mountain is still remarkably dry because it hasn't rained or warmed up too much near the summit. Down at the bottom it gets a bit heavier. The skiing is excellent, enjoy it before the storm. The local weather report predicts it will begin by about 1 p.m. That means today's sweet spot will be between 10 a.m. and the early part of the afternoon. Have fun!
